About us
Grewal Place Community Living is a residential support provider in Nanaimo, British Columbia. We run a community living home for adults and youth with developmental disabilities, with 24-hour support in a setting that feels like home, not a facility.
We believe the people we support have the same right as anyone to a safe home, meaningful days and a place in their community. Our job is to make that possible, one person at a time.
Mission statement
To provide safe, person-centred homes where adults and youth with developmental disabilities are respected, supported to make their own choices, and included in the life of their community.
Our vision
A Nanaimo where everyone, whatever their abilities, has a home they love and people who know them well.
What we value
- Dignity
- We treat every person as the expert in their own life.
- Choice
- People decide how they spend their days, with support to make informed decisions.
- Belonging
- We build connections with family, friends, neighbours and local groups.
- Safety
- Trained staff, clear routines and careful health support, without losing warmth.
- Honesty
- We keep families and referral workers informed, and we own our mistakes.
- Growth
- We celebrate every new skill, big or small.
Our home in Nanaimo
Our home is close to parks, trails, the waterfront and local services, so everyday life happens in the community: grocery runs, swimming, walks along the harbourfront, and time with family and friends.
